Google Play Store Review

Google Play is a great place to post your app to, but I hadn't expected it to be as hard a learning curve as it has been, it is quite doubting to be a first time user and their is definitely a lot to learn, if your a first time user, such as myself, and you presented with all the different options of uploading, it is quite hard to understand.

You have so many options, such as releasing your app for testing, beta, alpha, open, closed, as a google app, or as a Google Instant app and it isn't really intuitive to myself anyway where to start.

I managed to get my app up and published eventually, but I had made the mistake as setting it as a paid app and hadn't done an beta, or alpha test opened or closed, so inevitable it hasn't even had one install even know it's been sitting there a week, which I learned later was the most likely outcome, as people simply don't want to link up there credit cards, with the fear of the pitfalls of in add purchases and such, and lets face it why are you going to pay for an app, when you haven't tried it out first.

So the only option I have now is to make it free, and maybe gain some revenue by using advertisements or putting in in app purchases, but to implement advertising in my app is going to be a real pain, because I built the app using Construct 2 and compiled it was Cordova, both of which apparently used to work great, a couple of years ago, but plugin's don't work as easy as they used to, due mainly to the multitude of updates and deapperaited software.

Until I do the update to Element Tray, which is probably going to be a week or so, I have set the app to go live for free tomorrow for one week, it's still a paid app technically, but I've set the app price to 0.00p so it is free, I just don't want to commit yet to making it fully free, because once you do that you can never reverse, and I am not fully sure if I will ever be able to implement adverts yet with the construct 2 settings.

So what I am going to do now, is try and get as much attention as I can for it, me making this website is actually part of that effort, hopefully people will at least try it out at a 0p price, it is quite deflating, to make an app that took quite some time to make, just to see no interest from people in it, I know it isn't the best app in the whole wide world and I never expected immediate interest, but come on, it's at least colorful, and if you do keep playing it, you would at least learn some of the elements of the periodic table and chemical compounds, .

The next app I make I'll definitely spend more time doing testing and the pre release, I ain't a quitter, I am disappointed, but I will eventually succeeded I believe, try and try and try again...
